Attach a sparkling dragonfly to a keyring or why not make it into a beautiful cellphone charm?

Otherwise use it as a pendant to complete a glittering necklace.

 
 
   

You will need

  • 1 x 5 mm bicone crystal
  • 12 x 4mm bicone crystals
  • 2 x No.6 matching seeds beads
  • 1 small crystal rondel
  • 4 crystal drop beads (wings)
  • 2 x 4mm bicone black crystals (eyes)
  • 40 cm 0.35 mm nylon beading line
  • 2 crimp beads
  • 1 cell phone strap with jump ring
  • 9 x No.11 silver seed beads
  • Flat nose pliers
 
Step-by-step
 
Thread one crimp onto middle of nylon beading line. Crimp bead flat with pliers. Fold line in half so the two ends are together.

Thread one 5mm crystal, six 4mm crystals and one crystal rondel onto both lines. Then thread one No.6 seed bead down one line.
     
 
Take the line without the seed bead and thread down into the seed bead. Pull both lines tight.
 
 
     
 
Thread 2 drop crystals (wings) onto one line and onto the other line thread two drop crystals and one No.6 matching seed bead. Take the line without the seed bead on it and thread it down the seed bead. Pull both lines tight.
 
 
Thread a 4mm black crystal (eye) down one line. Thread one 4mm black crystal and 1 4mm crystal down the other line. Take the line with only one crystal and thread it down the crystal bead on the opposite line. Pull tight both lines
 
 
Thread a 4 mm crystal down each line. Take one line and thread it through the No.6 seed bead (near the rondel). Take the other line and thread it through the seed bead in the opposite direction. Pull both lines tight.
 
 
 
  Turn dragonfly over onto its back. Thread one 4 mm crystal on one line.Thread the opposite line down into crystal. Pull both lines tight. Thread one 4mm crystal onto each line.
 
 
 
Take one line and thread it through the No.6 bead (near eyes) thread the other line through the seed bead. Pull both lines tight.
 
 
Thread five No.11 silver beads onto one line and four No.11 silver beads down the other line. Thread the line holding the 4 seed beads up the last bead on the other line. Make a knot and thread a crimp bead down both lines. Crimp the crimp bead flat with pliers. Trim the line.
 
 
Attach calotte over crimp and make a couple of knots; close calotte with pliers. Attach cellphone strap with jump ring using pliers.
